楼主一直有读博的想法，但是从来未曾仔细思考，以至于硕士毕业拿到工作offer后才最终痛下决心决定申博。主要原因是楼主非常喜欢校园环境，也希望安静做事，走faculty路线。

小女先介绍下背景，背景很弱，请轻拍…

本科：双非，国际经济贸易，绩点3.79 / 4.0

硕士：香港前三 MSF，绩点3.6 / 4.0，雪上加霜的是数学、金工、经济学成绩不好。。

GMAT：760+4.5

Toefl：在准备中，原成绩100出头已过期

因为计划得晚，现在只能拿到金融系的推荐信，也没有做过research...

计划申请 strategy 的项目，不知道我应该怎么定位呢？我看了很多strategy的学生不是工作经验丰富就是有MBA...不知道这两点重要吗？论相关背景只能追溯到本科的管理学了...

下面的前辈们推荐IB项目，我看了单独的IB很少，倒是挺多Strategy里面有IB方向

Sounds your undergraduate degree is from an "average" institution in China. Also, the gpa for the major courses in your master's program is low. Thus, if you will apply for fin., I would suggest that you consider ranked in the 50-100 range.
Since your undergraduate major is int'l econ and trade, you may want to consider int'l business programs or programs with an int'l component, such as, UIUC, Temple, Miami, GWU, Ohio State, South Carolina, UTD, UT-El Paso, and Old Dominion. PhDs in int'l business, int'l fin, and int'l mkt are well sought after. For example, those from the UT-El Paso have been placed at research schools.
I am not so sure about the management/entrepreneurship track. But you can check them out.

谢谢回复！论坛上看到好多你的回复呢...你是在读的PHD学生吗？

50-100真的有希望么？看到论坛上好些人背景，米国硕士还有研究经验神马的...我担心我的背景80-100的都申请不到呢。这两年申请的人好多，我的背景相当一般，而且数学成绩中等。。。我50-100应该会分几个tier都申请下，但是不知道集中精力在哪一个区段的排名比较适合？

这个背景确实很难。往低了申吧。50-100和100以后其实没多大区别。
IB相对好申一点，但IB这个方向小，招的人也少。你最好看看IB做的东西喜不喜欢（比如JIBS）再说。

恩恩，谢谢。再问下decision science, strategy management 或者 entrepreneur management 以我这样的背景能match吗？

decision science是很math intensive的，不太合适。
IB其实有点类似strategy的一个分支，entrepreneurship也类似strategy的分支。这几个都可考虑，但可能IB相对来说最match吧。

我这几天看了好些学校PHD项目的网页，我发现management下面的项目，包括strategy, IB等，大部分current students 都有好些年的工作经验，不过几个中国学生没什么工作经验的。我想问下，是不是management体系下的项目会喜欢招收有工作经验的呢？是不是这样的项目其实更适合有丰富工作经验的人来读呢？

还有就是operation management, 很多current phd 本科读的是 engineering。是不是OM prefer 这种背景？谢谢~~

不是做这个的不了解。不过确实中国人不少没工作经验的也在读Strategy相关的方向，所以猜测不是个很大的问题吧。
