我认为这不对，如果用did去对称，主语不应该是its return，而应该it，划线部分改成as did it in its return of

C- Halley's comet didn't cause such a worldwide sensation as in its return of 1910-1911 in any other history sighting.

C不管理解成as did it in its return of的简略形式，或者是the sensation in its return of的简略形式，似乎都可以说通。所以我认为C正确
