答案是: A

B: Acording to...後面接的modifier錯誤, famous because of “The Godfather"錯誤往前修飾了prosecutor, 應該是修飾Corleone才對. 排除!
C: (還是要按照句意來看, 一開始乍看之下以為C才是對的@@): famous because of “The Godfather 錯誤修飾 mobster, 應該是修飾Corleone才對. 改變原句句意, 排除!
D: Acording to...後面接的modifier錯誤, near to those he most trusted錯誤修飾prosecutor. 排除!
E: modifier皆修飾正確, 但是相較於A, wordy=> 排除!

A: famous because of “The Godfather”& near to those he mosttrusted正確修飾a town, 也就是 Corleone.

语意、逻辑表达
A
在A和C之间犹豫。
在不知道单词意思情况下：
看到B和C 感觉是一样的。所以选A。
在理解语意时：
句子是说那个体弱的歹徒到C地避难，C地因God Father而闻名而且离他认为安全的地方很近。
所以选A。
BCD都曲解了原句意思。
而E表达有点啰嗦，虽然也是那个意思，但是被动语态在这里不好，
因为是according to the prosecutor, prosecutor是检举人的意思，检举人的陈述肯定是直接指出歹徒的行踪。(好像想得有点过多了)

我感觉A是相对较好的答案。

B中famous because of “The Godfather,” 错误的修饰了mobster或是prosecutor，是个dangling modifier，且夹心修饰
C中 famous because of“The Godfather,”错误修饰了mobster
D中 he 指代不明，不知道是指mobster还是prosecutor
E，我感觉逻辑上不符，根据 prosecutor的话，他是想阐述the ailing mobster怎么怎么了，而不是要说明Corleone这个地方怎么怎么了；而且 that...because it....感觉累赘

感觉应该选A，A的表达最清楚而且逻辑上没有歧义。
B里面 famous because of “The Godfather,” the ailing mobster。。。会觉得mobster是famous的主语
C里面也是会觉得mobster是famous的主语
D里面 he指代不明，不知道指的是mobster还是prosecutor
E里面不必要的被动导致句子的中心转移了

根据语意，应该在A和C中间来选，但C改变了语意。 A里面的教父是修饰Corleone，而C改成了mobster。选A
