103. In your opinion, what is the most important characteristic (for example, honesty, intelligence, a sense of humor) that a person can have to be successful in life? Use specific reasons and examples from your experience to explain your answer. When you write your answer, you are not limited to the examples listed in the prompt.

As to the issue what is the most important characteristic a person can have to be successful in life, different people have various answers, due to their individual experience and personal preference. But as far as I am concerned, I vote for patience. I will give reasons for my view in the following discussion.

Firstly, patience indicates that people will learn and experience more, which play a key role in success. What problems we face daily, in quite a few cases, are complex and misleading. So, it needs us to pay more patience and exploration to them. As a famous saying in English goes, “the more haste, the less speed.” Were people impatient, they could be baffled further and lose their temper. Oppositely, people with patience are more likely to fulfill their goals. Have you even thought about that why Chinese players can win most prize medals in table tennis? In my opinion, it is partly credited to their special training that how to be patient in intensified competition, even in an inferior position.

Secondly, patience bestows on us a favorable network. Undoubtedly, nowadays the network influences personal success significantly. People value good manners as their friend-making criteria so that they regard the one with patience as an agreeable and trusted companion. Imagine how the patient person behaves: he does not interrupt others during talking. He could wait for his turn quietly to pass a crowd instead of pushing in. I definitely believe most people like there will be more such patient people in their surroundings.

Admittedly, success is a result of a web of characteristics. We cannot deny other precious characteristics leading to success in life, such as honesty, intelligence, a sense of humor.

In sum, as the advantages mentioned above, I think patience is the most importante one comparatively. It is an interchangeable term with the art of success and nice relationship.
