1. The following appeared in a memorandum from the owner of Carlo’s Clothing to the staff:
“Since Disc Depot, the music store on the next block, began a new radio advertising campaign last year, its business
has grown dramatically, as evidenced by the large increase in foot traffic into the store. While the Disc Depot’s
owners have apparently become wealthy enough to retire, profits at Carlo’s Clothing have remained stagnant for the
past three years. In order to boost our sales and profits, we should therefore switch from newspaper advertising to
frequent radio advertisements like those for Disc Depot.”
Discuss how well reasoned . . . etc.
IR:
1. 一篇argument选must be true与must not be true各一：a company has following three regulation in applying licenses for business: 1) if U, then J 2) if C, then U, 3)if no C, then J (具体的关系和字母有点忘了）
解题方式：你需要意识到：这个company在C这个license上只有2种选择：有C或没有C，无论何种情况都一定有J；must not be true 很简单一看就知道
2. mutil-source：1)essay有3段（需要读）， 讲nation X implemented a unemployemnt benefit scheme; what is distant effect: older people are less likely to be employed(好像是这样，具体到时候再看一下）
问题1（容易）： 根据折线图判断benefit高低、还有一个rate高低对不同年龄层unemployment的影响
问题2（容易）：更具最后一张table判断各个年龄层在benefit实施前后的参加工作的incentive的区别
问题3（中等上）：要结合你对distant effect的理解结合san个source判断这个effect是否被table体现出来了
3. 计算题： Jack bought 7 shirts and 5 pairs of trousers last October with each price X, Y(X, Y已知), the price will be cut by 25% this oct. Calculate the costs for jack to buy 11 shirts and 7 pairs of Trousers, respectively.
4. Graph: 一张图是关于business owned by minority groups in America, 数据有：size, family-owned or not, how each is financed, 都是这样的数据排序题。做起来很简单，根据每个问题利用下拉框重新排序即可。
总体觉得IR比prepIR简单，时间尽然够用。

1. 火山岩的再形成：火山喷发以前大家认为是下部物质不断向上refill的过程，后来反驳：其实是上部的surface rock下陷（证据：上部rock有雨水的痕迹、oxygen ratio不同）
有一个问题：对于从来没有喷发过的火山，哪一个是对的？（答案：科学家不能再其中发现rain track）
2. 欧洲植物学家对新世界植物的探究：第一段有点难看懂：讲欧洲植物学家对地中海植物的eyewitness其实比人们想的要在意的多，科学性的研究的深入的多（罗列了植物学家做了些什么） 第二段开头：for the plants from the New World （暗含比较？）因为欧洲人对来自新世界的植物很早就有了接触，（注意：这里的接触是用来吃啊做药啊，而不是探究起源），这种很高的熟悉度导致了欧洲植物学家对这些new world植物的探究很浅，注重他们的使用价值，而不是来源与学术价值。
3. 如何评估英国在亚洲的企业在20世纪的表现：第一段：用published profits number？不行！数据不准确（证据：bank有hidden数据）那用股价呢？也不行！（证据：在india的企业在20s的股价因为汇率波动以及一战时的繁荣导致价格不准确。 第二段：那还是用market share吧？好的（证据：英国在全亚洲多国在1920s左右都操纵着大量核心企业的运作，之后逐渐消退，在80s左右影响消失
