This is NOT advanced mathematics. 不需要微积分，就是初中数学。
来画一个坐标轴，横轴时间t，纵轴速度v，"if the speed increases at a constant rate" 意思就是对应一条straight line with slope>0（而不是curved line). 既然是straight line，那么average speed当然就是(v0+vt)/2，这是初等数学。
假如说是curved line，那确实需要用到高等数学的微积分，但这题不需要。
How can you show that average speed is the average of starting speeding and ending speed if the speed increases at a constant rate?
