Here, please do not go into too much detail on exactly what you did, but instead focus on the fact that you know what research is like, but also know that you still have a long way to go until you can conduct independent research. And a PhD will help you become a better researcher.

但是如果没有严肃正经对research idea论证过，not confident enough to write a research proposal出来，那么还不如就是笼统说一下research interest呢。

楼主可以参考wharton PhD program webinar录像，是专门负责PHD招生的副院长来讲的，我看过以后很有启发。倒数第二个问题就是你问的这个：should I include a detailed research proposal in my PS?
