If you just want to do accounting, then there is no real advantage to doing an MBA. An MBA is for general management, and it doesn't seem to fit your goals. If you want to work as an accountant and study then really a Masters in accounting seems right to me. If you want to do academic research on accounting, you can also think about a PhD.
