区别就在于一个是what一个是something，为什么C对A不对，哪位牛人解释一下

"what I want" 是指一个特定的概念，后面不能有举例出现，如such as

somthing是不定指的概念，后面可以举例

不过这题我不懂为什么是had not previously.... 另一个过去时间的标志呢？

2. what they had not ... 过于绝对，好像说所有他们以前没有考虑到的事情就只有一件--better control of infections，不如something好。”

想法补充：1、the other常常和One一起使用：“one.....the other.......”；
2、再者就是这里的the other在A中有那种除了smallpox以外指代其他的infections的意思，这里measles and yaws必然不能将其他的Infections全部包含在内。
3*、“从常用搭配来看，such+Nouns+as是常用搭配。”这一点有待大家讨论哦。
下面补充such as用法：
n. such as ABC 只是单一的列举，而 such n. as ABC 起到强调n.的作用。强调在此更符合整句句意。但是需要注意的是不管 n. such as ABC 或是 such n. as ABC 的结构， n. 与ABC一定要平行。
Socially and environmentally responsible investing is on the rise: Last year in the United States, over $2 trillion was invested in funds that screen companies according to a variety of criteria such as adherence to labor standards, protection ofthe environment, and observance of human rights.

A. according to a variety of criteria such as

B. according to such a variety of criteria as

这个such as 与平行结构的混合考点。

B选项 'such a variety of criteria as'. Variety 与ABC平行. 但是此处的ABC不是对应variety而是对应criteria.

A选项 'variety of criteria such as'Criteria 和 ABC 平行

所以选A

such as的知识点补充不与第三点冲突吧~open to discuss。。。。。。。。

逻辑含义上理解：
A. 如果不能根除,有效的控制诸如麻疹和雅司病这样的“其他”感染。
C. 根治天花的成功激励专家们追求之前他们想都不敢想的：如果不能根除, 有效的控制诸如麻疹和雅司病这样的感染。

这里逻辑含义翻译出来A中的“其他”感觉有点别扭，the other也感觉多余吧。

再补充：这道语法题，逻辑含义是突破，aeo斑斑的第二条真心很有启发，好心勤劳猴猴考古LZ~好好感受一下哦~~这个题饭饭今天只能分析到这儿了~不知道LZ明白没哈~

Actually, "what" or "something" can be used in this sentence. I don't think these two words can make or break the logic in the sentence.

The awkward part in choice A is the phrase "of the other infections such as". This phrase shifts the meaning because the original sentence wants to describe controls for smallpox and not controls for "other infections"...

没有多新啦！上面有个人说的很好啊，what太绝对了。sth能使用更大的范围。
