请教三道数学题解答过程

If each term in the sum a1+a2+...+an is either 7 or 77 and the sum equals 350, which of t following could be equal to n?
A 38
B 39
C 40
D 41
E 42
(答案是C)

If x > y^2 > z^4, which of the following statements could be true?
1. x > y > z
2. z > y > x
3. x > z > y
A 1 only
B 1 and 2 only
C 2 and 3 only
D 1 and 3 only
E 1,2,and 3
(答案是E)

A vending machine is designed to dispense 8 ounces of coffee into a cup. After a test that recorded the number of ounces of coffee in each of 1,000 cups dispensed by the vending machine, the 12 listed amounts, in ounces, were selected from the data. If the 1,000 recorded amounts have a mean of 8.1 ounces and a standard deviation of 0.3 ounce, how many of the 12 listed amounts are within 1.5 standard deviations of the mean? （listed number 略）
用自己的方法来做得出范围是8.1-1.5 至 8.1+1.5，但答案是错的，不知道哪里出了问题。请问高手们应该怎么求范围呢？

second：X肯定是正数，无论Y,Z多大，X必定都是最大的！但是Y,Z的大小不定，如y=-1/2,Z=1/4;Y=1/2,Z=-1/4.于是1,3都可能对。但是第二个，选项本身不对吧，Y怎么可能即大于又小于Z呢，应该有一个Z是-Z，那么在Y,Z都是在（-1，1）的范围内应该也是成立的。
本人数学很菜，看高手的解答！

X为什么就最大呢？难道不能x=0.4,y=0.6么？没说xyz是整数，x，y,z都小于1的话就x<y<z啊。。感觉题目条件不全

是的是的，选项本来就打错了，不好意思，浪费你的时间了

。应该是 z > y > x

我也同意rukawa，我觉得x肯定会大于其他两个的啊，但是答案就是三个都有可能...

那么全是7的话，n=50
1个77剩下全是7的就是40

第二题：问could be true，那么只要在3个条件中各找到一个满足题目的组合就行了，所以取值做法最快
例如：
（1）1000，2，1
（2）1/4，1/5, 1/6
（3）1，1/2, -1/2
所以选E

第三个要是求范围应该是mean+or-1.5*(standard deviation)=8.1+or-1.5(0.3)=7.65 or 8.55

第一题的话是不是要一个个数那样试？其他两道都说得很对。原来within 1.5 standard deviations of the mean是这个意思。
