讨论帖不太多，大概就是说后半句when引导的从句不能用to be able作主语，句子结构应该是the ability（to...）has created ...

to do可以作主语，我刚开始也认为可能是 to be able不可以作主语，就google一下，看到有to be here的，就不太确定了。。。

从词性来看哦，able优于ability，但是没有说作主语的时候to do结构劣于抽象名词啊？

我觉得如果to do作主语最好用it做形式主语吧，单独to do好像prep里没怎么见到过

to be able我觉得在这里没有ability的意思，所以两者意义不同，是“适应”这个动作创造了a whole new class of dominant large mammals，还是这种“能力”创造了a whole new class of dominant large mammals。此外to be able to adjust to the environmental changes wrought by human beings 太。。。awkward了吧

就是说从逻辑层面来看：由于to do过于强调动作，选择to be able题目就是说“能够适应环境”这个多次发生的动作导致blahblah。。而是“能够适应环境的能力”创造了。。。
是这个意思么？
逻辑是有问题啊，我现在脑残ing，给我点时间啊，有点开窍了。
至于结构：when to be able to adjust to the environmental changes wrought by human beings has created a whole new class of dominant large mammals

我没发现有问题啊~是我忽略了什么习惯用法么？？
