求助一道逻辑题

In the five years since the opening of Colson’s, a nondiscount department store, a new store has opened at the location of every store in the shopping district that closed because it could not compete with Colson’s.

原题说的是：五年前一家non-discount的商店开业，但是周围因它开业而倒闭的店铺的位置很快又有其他的新店取代，那么类比之下，如今新开了一家discount的商店，那么周围的商店就算倒闭也会很快被取代。

问题是：五年前的新店和五年后的新店有区别——五年前可以在大商店周围开折扣店，以低价取胜，而五年后却无法与大的折扣店竞争，导致weaken。

其他的几个都是irrelevant

题目逻辑：因为与S折扣店竞争不过，很多G地区的折扣店在5年内都要关门；自5年前一个非折扣店C开张后，由于和C竞争不过，这一地区的别的商店都关门了，但一个新商店却在这个地区开张了。→这一地区不会空太久。

思路:如果自从5年前C开张后这一地区新开的商店也都是折扣店呢？(即由于和非折扣店竞争不过转开折扣店，但现在又和折扣店竞争不过，那就没活路了)

答案：
A. 探讨顾客的行为，无关；
B. C开张后再开的都是折扣店，即折扣店和非折扣店都竞争不过，正确；
C. 探讨现在的情况，无关；
D. 探讨G地区的人口增速，无关；
E. 探讨这一地区商店所售商品，无关

想请教一下，我的理解能力不是很好，读完题后感觉根本读不出两个例子之间是由一个推出另一个的关系啊。光读题的话，第二句直接说In the five years…与第一句之间也没什么衔接，怎么能看出作者是在暗示由后面推出前面，即:由Colson非折扣店挤垮其他店后新开了一家店,推出Goreville折扣店挤垮其他店后也会有新店开张呢？读完题看不出这层推理关系就更别说削弱推理关系了

是不是我自己水平太弱了。。。
