1.這裡的they是指ethnologist嗎??

如果是的話,那第一句話不就變成了"Enthnologists were after the linguistic or anthropological data"

-->民族學者在與研學者和考古人類學者的資料後

.....有些不懂????

2. 再來,"that would supplement their own field observation"是形容前面的名詞data吧??

那麼是不是說明語言與考古人類學者的data只是民族學家的補充物呢??

所以我可以這樣說嗎??

民族學家利用story,並加上語言學者與人類學者的data為資料基礎

我是這樣想的

如果data只是補充物的話,那麼66題的C就有可能正確

they是指ethnologist。这里的after是介词，是追求、探求的意思。句意是"民族学者在探求语言方面的或人类学方面的资料。"

2. "that would supplement their own field observation"是形容前面的名詞data吧??那麼是不是說明語言與考古人類學者的data只是民族學家的補充物呢??所以我可以這樣說嗎??民族學家利用story,並加上語言學者與人類學者的data為資料基礎。

"that would supplement their own field observation"是形容前面的名詞data的。是說“語言方面的或人類學方面的data可以作为民族學家自己实地观察的補充物。而民族學家所利用的personal stories正是指語言方面的或人類學方面的data。这样C就显然不是正确答案了。

有了上述考虑，才会明白OG的解释："Choice C is incorrect because ethnologists recorded life stories to 'supplement their own field observation'".

斑竹，我是新来的，您的解释有问题吧？我认为：

民族學家所利用的personal stories是指own field observation，不是語言方面的或人類學方面的data，

they were after linguistic or anthropological data 这里的data是指其他的研究方法吧。

就是说他们追求语言和人类学方面的数据，有助于他们的实地调查，也就是生活纪录方法

请指教
