1. If M is the least common multiple of 90, 196, and 300, which of the following is NOT a factor of M?

A.600
B.700
C.900
D.2,100
E.4,900答案是A 可是既然是factor 答案不可能出来这么大的数呀 factor都是质数吧？
2. Each week a certain salesman is made a fixed amount equal to $300 plus a commission equal to 5 percent of the amount of these sales that week over $1,000.What is the total amount the salesman was paid last week?
(1)The total amount the salesman was paid last week is equal to 10 percent of the amount of these sales last week.
(2)The salesman’s sales last week total $5,000.
不明白1000是多出来的部分还是超出1000的5% 每回遇到这样的问题都晕请高人指点一下如何看出是多出的部分还是整体？万分感

3. If n is a positive integer and r is the remainder when (n-1)(n+1) is divided by 24, what is the value of r?
(1)2 is not a factor of n.
(2)3 is not a factor of n.答案C 2和3 都不是N的因子是不是可知N是5或7呀？但是却没有余数我选的E 为什么错了？

1) The question ask for a factor of M and M is the least common multiple of thre other numbers.

2) over 1,000 means the amount more than 1,000.

3) if n does not have a factor of 2, then n-1 and n+1 MUST each have a facotr of 2. Plus one of them must have a factor of 4.
if n does not have a factor of 3, then either n-1 or n+1 must have a factor of 3.
