In partsof South America,vitamin-A deficiency is a serious health problem, especially among children[l1] . In one region, agriculturists hope to improvenutrition by encouraging farmers to plant a new variety of sweet potato calledSPK004 that is rich in betacarotene, which the body converts into vitamin A[l2] . 我翻看了以前的讨论对D还是有疑问，D 选项难道不是对 the varieties currently grown contain little beta-carotene.的复述吗难道不是给出的原因吗？

D选项无法构成支持，有可能存在significantly richer inbeta-carotene SPK004 is的种类，不意味着这个种类就比SPK004更适合在南美洲种植，而且该选项暗示“该计划的成功取决于是否能选到richest in beta-carotene的植物”，而解决胡萝卜素缺乏显然不能仅仅考虑是否是richest的植物，一个仅仅是高含量（不是最高）但适合当地种植条件，人民饮食习惯的植物才是最优选择。

E则排除了如果引入这种新植物不会造成新的nutrition deficiency
