选校求助各位筒子，fordham msba&denver msf

各位筒子好，废话不多说，现在这个时间马上七月了，直接进入主题，因为楼主也很急

1，福特汉姆大学的商务分析硕士，msba，master of science in business analytics，一年项目，刚开了一年，今年第二年。
2，丹佛大学的msf，正常两年，带小奖。

楼主仔细考虑过，感觉各有利弊，
1，先说学习方面。F家据说是应nyc的企业要求才开的这专业，我查了下，哥大和纽约大学也才开了2,3年，课程是各种数据研究，挖掘，带有编程性质，一年读完30个学分，楼主估计略水。而Du么，就是一般的msf，两年项目，当然是偏会计这方面的。
2，费用，F家学费稍微便宜（其实主要是DU家学费太贵了！！），但是生活费我想无需我多言了。。。另外DU带点小奖。
3，名气和排名。F宗排50上下，DU80，商排的话，也是F略好。听说丹佛大学校友资源广，而且丹尼尔斯商学院也算老牌商科，这些年名次不断退步，但是毕竟年头很久远，但是F在NYC也算第三好的学校，知名度也可以。
4，就业前景，据说数据分析这专业比较新，前景比较好，而msf么，也就那样。说白了，不管学啥学好了都是个牛。F家毕业了的同学有直接找到工作的，还不是一两个，DU么，不太了解。
5，地理位置，这个无需我多言了，丹佛偏的比较厉害，可能金融商业气氛差点，机会少。

Before getting into school choice, I would suggest you consider what kind of career or job you ultimately want. Business Analytics and Finance are two very different programs that will lead to very different careers. So, you should choose the program with the subject that interests you the most. However, if you don’t have a preference on this, I’d suggest you choose Fordham for two reasons. First, Business Analyticshas one of the most promising career tracks right now, so there are many opportunities within all kinds of industries. That’s also why many universities are adding BA programs to their roster. Secondly, Fordham’s location in the heart of Manhattan is truly outstanding. You will have more exposure there to many social events, such as networking opportunities, which will be a great asset to your future job hunt. Hope this helps!

Hey ! Jon, thank you for the advice. Actually, I have no preference on this. I just know BA is a very different way from Finance. BA needs lots of foundation of Matlab, SAS even C++. It demands researches in computer science.
I choose Fordham at last for 3 reasons. 1, Just as you said, I prefer the location of NYC. 2, I find that majoring in finance in University of Denver cannot get a job easily after graduating, most of the graduates from MSF have to go back to China and start from a platform competing with other graduates from domestic universities. 3, My original aim is to pass CPA (I have no accounting background, so I choose MSF), but I find MSF is not easy to turn to CPA or accounting.
I have question need you help me.
Though I choose BA, I do not want to get too far from finance, accounting or banking. I still do not know much about the future of a BA major. Can you give me some examples on what most BA majors do after graduation? Do most financial or accounting companies need this kind of people?

Hi there, and thanks for following up! I’m more than happy to offer further guidance. For BA graduates, you can find them inanalytical teamswithin any company. If you are running a business, no matter what kind of business in any industry, you need to support your decisions with research and analysis. The BAs provide the data points and analysis to inform these decisions. If you still want to stay close to the financial industry, you can pay more attention to BA jobs in the financial industry. Check out BA postings from CitiBank, JP Morgan, and Bank of America. At companies like these, however, you will most likely work on the business side (like in the marketing department) and not on the product side (like the quant team). Hope this helps!
