61,比较对象不一致, nearly six hours a week were spent in 1997 :   wordy and awkward

A.    chores; by 1997 they had spent nearly six hours a week  (时态错)
B.    chores; by 1997 that figure had grown to nearly six hours a week
C.    chores, whereas nearly six hours a week were spent in 1997 (被动语态不perfer,逻辑关系好像也有点儿不对吧,主句想表达增长的意思,whereas一般都是同类性质的句子。
D.    chores, compared with a figure of nearly six hours a week in 1997 (这个对比歧义)
E.    chores, that figure growing to nearly six hours a week in 1997 (that有问题)

61  A错在哪?

61、In 1981 children in the United States spent an average of slightly less than two and a half hours a week doing household (chores; by 1997 they had spent nearly six hours a week).

A.    chores; by 1997 they had spent nearly six hours a week  {错误的不是时态,而是they 指代同一群小孩,这是不合理的,毕竟经过了十几年}
B.    chores; by 1997 that figure had grown to nearly six hours a week {无语法错误,用分号则前一句和后一句的主语不必完全对称}
C.    chores, whereas nearly six hours a week were spent in 1997 {whereas最好主语对称,这里比较children和six hours a week,不对称)
D.    chores, compared with a figure of nearly six hours a week in 1997 (这个对比歧义){AGREE}
E.    chores, that figure growing to nearly six hours a week in 1997 {对比上述选项这个选项最难看,直接忽略}

A.    equally likely to exceed the proposed speed limit as
B.    equally likely to exceed the proposed speed limit as they are
C.    equally likely that they will exceed the proposed speed limit as
D.    as likely that they will exceed the proposed speed limit as
E.    as likely to exceed the proposed speed limit as they are {逻辑含义是同一帮司机在不同情况下的表现,they are 后面省略了to exceed, as likely as 个人认为优于equally like as,所以选E不选B}
