Passage 55Some observers have attributed the dramatic growth
in temporary employment that occurred in the United
states during the 1980’s to increased participation in
the workforce by certain groups, such as first-time or

ments. However, statistical analyses reveal that demo-
graphic changes in the workforce did not correlate with
variations in the total number of temporary workers.
Instead, these analyses suggest that factors affecting.

consider mandating benefit coverage for temporary
employees, promoting pay equity between temporary
(25)and permanent workers, assisting labor unions in orga-
nizing temporary workers, and encouraging firms to
assign temporary jobs primarily to employees who
explicitly indicate that preference.

个人认为这句话的理解是：一些观察者将发生在美国20世纪80年代的暂时性就业的急剧增长归因于某种群体作为劳动力的加入的增加，比如是一些第一次工作的人或是重返工作的人，这些人恐怕都很喜欢这样的安排。

也就是说这句话的关键是劳动力的增加和暂时性就业的增长。用排除和比较
B选项说的关键是暂时性职位和永久性工作
C选项是雇主对于工人怎么做
