一道语法，急！！！

During the last interglacial period, the climate on the Earth was warmer than it is today,为何用it代替？此气候不是彼气候 and the consequent melting of the polar ice caps caused the sea level to raise about 60 feet over and above what its height presently is now.
(A) sea level to raise about 60 feet over and above what its height presently is now
(B) sea level to be raised over its height presently about 60 feet
(C) sea level to rise about 60 feet above its present height
(D) level of the seas to rise over and above its present height about 60 feet
(E) level of the seas to be raised over their height, now about 60 feet

答案是C。想问一下思路~还有rise和raise的区别~语法笔记里为什么说这里不能有raise，raise不是也有上升的意思吗？？？

raise是及物动词后面跟宾语
rise是不及物动词后面不跟宾语

(A) sea level to raise about 60 feet over and above what its height presently is now-->and above what,wordy
(B) sea level to be raised over its height presently about 60 feet-->be raised被动，wordy；raise及物不用被动
(C) sea level to rise about 60 feet above its present height->its表sea level's，没有歧义,最简洁
(D) level of the seas to rise over and above its present height about 60 feet-->sea level比level of sea简洁
(E) level of the seas to be raised over their height, now about 60 feet-->sea level比level of sea简洁；raise被动不对

看到题先排除DE, 因为 relunctant and inefficent
然后ABC一起看，排除B，被动，因为主动优于被动
再看AC，A后面那么长而且很难看懂，C后面很好理解。
也可以从动词排除A

raise 及物 sb raise sth
rise 不及物 sth rise

另外：the climate on the Earth was warmer than it is today 对比，对的及其工整，代词优先代主语，这里就是climate了
