This year Henry will save a certain amountof his income, and he will spend the rest. Next year Henry will have no income, but for each dollar that he savesthis year, he will have 1 + r dollars available to spend. In terms of r, what fraction of hisincome should Henry save this year so that next year the amount he wasavailable to spend will be equal to half the amount that he spends this year?

A. 1/(1+r)
B . 1/(2r+2)
C. 1/(3r+2)
D. 1/(r+2)
E. 1/(2r+3)

这道题的理解可能有问题，我觉得最后一个条件根本不用给，r貌似没有用处，一定是我理解错了。请大家帮忙看一下，应该怎么考虑？

假设上一年H花了X元，存了Y元，那么这一年他有Y（1+r）元可以花。后面说，这一年H花的钱要使上一年他花费的1/2，也就是说Y（1+r）=X/2。
因此Y/X=1/2(1+r)
so,可以算出H存款的比例，也就是Y/(X+Y)。

看来“Next year Henry will have no income, but for each dollar that he saves this year, he will have 1 + r dollars available to spend.”的理解是 1+r 是next year 花的。我理解成this year 花的。

数学理解为王道，仔细为攻！
