Agree or not a wise friend is more important than a humorous one.

Nowadays there’s a widespread belief that a wise friend is more important than a humorous one. However, I cannot fully agree with this point of view for several reasons which I would like to detail in the essay.

To begin with, it’s an undeniable truth that a intelligent friend can give us large amount of instructions toward our life. And these wise instructions, as a fruit of rigorous thinking, help us avoid mistakes as well as making sound decisions. Just think about it, without sound economic advices from his treasury secretary Robert.e.rubin, how many chances does it stand for bill Clinton to lead america’s economy through ten years’ prosperity?

But it’s not necessarily true that a wise friend is better than a humorous guy.In fact, as universally acknowledged, a sense of humor helps one escape from embarrassing moments such as silence and humiliations. What’s more, laugh, as a result of humorous talking, can help one relax and relieve the pressure of heavy workload and fast life pace, which is considered as quite precious in an increasing competitive world nowadays. In addition, a masterpiece with a sense of humor will bring eternal happiness to human souls. Just imagine given a chance, will anybody miss the opportunity of having dinner with o.henry?

Apparently a humorous friend is no less important than a shrewd one and individuals can benefit from both of them in different approaches. In a word, it depends on the situation that you are in. suppose you are a sales manager of a large company, then a shrewd friend who provides suitable economic advices best suits your demand. But what if you are looking for a partner to go through a pleasant vacation? Surely a humorous guy will add a brilliant touch to your wonderful holiday.

In summary it’s quite superficial to claim that a wise friend is more important than a humorous one as there’s no point in comparing them. And therefore the final conclusion is rather clear that both types of friends can inspire us a lot and they are equally important to our life.
