Which of thefollowing, if true, most logically completes the passage below?
The traditionalview of Hormer is that of a blind bard who wrote down the epic poems known asthe Iliads and the Odyssey in the eighth century B.C.E. Weknow now, however, that this picture cannot be true. The language used in theepic poems contains elements of the Greek language dating from the twelfth tothe eighth century B.C.E., but the Greek writing system was not developed untilthe late seventh century, when it was used to record clerical notes. A moreaccurate statement regarding Hormer, therefore, is that, if he existed, he mostlikely
A.   Wrote thepoems down in the fifth century B.C.E., using a pre-existing oral tradition ofGreek epic poetry.
B.    Was involvedin the recording of clerical notes in Greek in the seventh century
C.    Composedthe poems orally in the eighth century and then dictated them to a scribe inthe late seventh century
D.   Composedthe poems orally in the twelfth century, using a predecessor of the Greeklanguage
E.    Composedthe poems orally in the eighth century, using elements of pre-existing Greekepic poetry

这题有句话“ but the Greek writing system was not developed until the late seventh century, when it was used to record clerical notes. ”
