How to choose?

Got several interviews these days. Two in marketing (USC and Florida). One in business Logistics (Maryland). Coordinator in USC told me the decision will be made in Mid of March. Maryland just began their interviews for the first round and will interview several applicants in the next two weeks. I have chatted with one faculty in Florida for one and half hours. She is quite nice and satisfied with my background and asked my chance of going to their program, given the offer. If I were lucky to get offers from all of them, which is better for my academic career.

Still wait for the notice from university of washington in seatle, Texas T&M, CMU. A little regret for not trying to apply those top tier universities such as warton, NYU this year.

ufl marketing is a top tier program in the field. i think you must have talked with xie, who is really nice as well as rigorous.

just choose from usc and ufl, do not consider logistic.

ufl is more famous in behavior, I am assuming you are not. Then i think usc is a little better.

How is drop rate of these three programs? Whether they treat student nicely? Florida has lots of famous guys in marketing including a chief editor in marketing science and very strong in consumer behavior research. USC has higher rankings and big city to living in.

may I ask how's the interview of Maryland? conduct by whom and how about the questions, as I also received the invitation.

Btw, you may check CMU status online now if you applied logistics.

Maryland's interview is conducted by martin, who prefers students with long working experience and strong communication skills. Will not ask standard questions and they just want to chat with you to see whether you are serious of the program and how good your spoken english is. Seem to be rejected by marketing of CMU

If you receive offers from both of them, it will be a really hard decision. Not sure which direction you are interested in. If you are in quan, then USC seems a little better than UFL, though Shugan is in UFL. If you are in CB, then UFL definately dominates USC. Of coz, location would probably be another factor as LA is a nice place and UCLA is also there. I m sorry that you apply for the Logistics rather than the Marketing program at Maryland which is quite strong in quan (Rust, Wedel, Kannan are wonderful scholars and very active in research).
