Start my career with a JD degree?

My undergraduate major is EE and I did perfectly-well in terms of gpa and research;

Now I am applying us top schools, with masters either in MFE or EE;

After that (which is not far from now), I wish have a JD degree to have a law career...

Any ideas?

sounds a good plan. People say that law schools appreciate students with engineering backgrounds; so is the legal industry.

World is changing too fast these days. It is too hard to predict anything. You will finish your JD after 5-6 years. Nobody knows what a law career will be like at that time. Few people are confident with the economy in US now. I am not discouraging you. Just want you to know the reality. And also more and more Chinese in US are now applying JD degree due to the bad economy. So the golden time for lawyer has probably passed, just like other areas.

Thanks very much. Above is my projection now, and it needs flexibility for sure.

There's not so many people here, so I guess after my master degree finishes, post is still in the first page so everyone can look at and comment on during my program....

JDs with a technology degree are almost recession proof (I heard from an professional attorney search consultant). Even at this time, law firms are still looking for lawyers and JD candidates with technology backgrounds. So my advice is that if you can land a Top 14 offer, go for it. Otherwise, think twice.

If you come from a rich family, you can do that. Many JD need to pay off their student loans.

If I were you, I would get a tech MS degree in tech first. :-)
Actually I have a very similar background as you do.

I think it is better if you have a solid background in engineering when things don't go well as you might have thought before. You know what I mean?

Good luck to you!
