Choices C and D are needlessly wordy, and D requires that before North Americans, to be grammatically complete. Choice E, the best answer, is both grammatically correct and concise.

我想问一下that 必须补出的原因：是因为跟前面一个that is currently uncontrolled 平行呢？还是 sth that sb is exposed to 这个that 不能省？

我印象中 that 在定语从句中做主语不可省，但做宾语可省。对吗？

所以单就 sth that sb is exposed to 来说，that 是可省的. am I right?

同意。并列分句中，为避免混淆，第二个分句前的that绝对不可以省略。
