PASSAGE 9有木有小伙伴有解析啊？？？很多地方看不懂诶。
1.Were theresomething peculiarly efficient about the free market and inefficient about price-fixing,the countries that have avoided the first andused the second would have suffered drastically in their economic development.
想请问为啥这句句首是Were there倒装呢？
2.ButSoviet firms are no more subject to pricesestablished by a free market over which they exercise little influence than are capitalist firms; rather, Soviet firms havebeen given the power to fix prices.
以及这一句又要怎么翻译呢？

1 were there倒装句是 if there were的倒装形式把if去掉 be提前。你看这个句子就是 if there were...，the country would have suffered......
2 But Soviet firms are no more subject to prices established by a free market over which they exercise little influence than are capitalist firms; rather, Soviet firms have been given the power to fix prices.
established修饰prices。s公司不再受价格支配，这个价格是established by a free market ...然后分号一般的作用是后一句解释前一句说的事情，有说明的意义，表示并列关系。rather 更确切地说，换言之，的意思。句子的意思是 ——s公司受fix prices支配
