Sometime is job chose you, whatever you match it or not. My suggestion is once you have the job, try to setup some goals for yourself. It is true that senior managers in big four have more responsibilities to sell the business, however, only when you are good at the areas which you want to sell, you can be the final winner. To be a senior manager needs 6-8 years. Before that, you need to learn how to be a team player and how to write the good documentation first, and then step by step (how to deal with client, how to manage the engagement, coach others, build up the network and etc.).Most of the Sr. Manager learned the soft skills during the years before they promoted. Just ask yourself what are the top 5 skills you want to learn in your early stage of the career life and try to find the ways to develop them in your first job.No job is perfect and everything has tradeoff. And you are the one who knows yourself best. |
