[求助] 美国MBA选校: UT-Austin v.s. Georgetown

大家好,

我今年申请美国的MBA, 因为太晚才开始准备, 所以投3rd round, 很幸运在5月份收到2个offer.
1. Georgetown: fellowship $20k/yr
2. UT-Austin: n/a

这几天就是deposit的deadline了, 但这二间学校差异很大且各有特色, 而且我对美国的学校不太了解, 所以想了很久还是选不出来, 想请有经验或对当地了解的大家提供一些宝贵的意见做为参考.

我的背景:
GMAT: 700
TOEFL: 102
Work Experience: 5 yr trading
Academic background: BA/MA of Arts
Concentration: Marketing

我目前想到的主要差异如下, 但应该还遗漏了很多重要的考量点, 请大家补充,

1.UT-Austin是公立综合大学, 校友较多, 排名较好, 德州很多有钱的产业可能比较好找intern. 虽然Austin的生活费比较便宜, 但因为Georgetown有scholarship, 所以Austin可能会稍贵一点(因为要买车), 且可能要花比较多钱去各大城市参加job fair.

2.Georgetown是私立小型大学, 地点好, 国际化程度高, 去东岸各大城找intern或参加job fair比较方便, 不用买车.

job fair的话austin本身加上周围dallas, houston,san antonio都是数得出来的大城市阿，如果lz一心要去NYC的话那可能georgetown比较近，否则的话Austin应该是很不错的选择哦

Both are great places. Depends on what you want to do after MBA.

BTW: UT-astin require the applicant's TOEFL at least 105... Maybe this requirement is not so strict.

Georgetown好像很少给钱的，LZ看来综合实力满强的

You should go for Georgetown.My U.S.manager who ever lived in Washington D.C for 20 years just told me, when i faced the same dillemma as yours, Georgetown is perceived by American as an Ivy League like university, to which elite diplomats and politicians send their children for education. But Austin is just a university from the south, though not a bad public university. just 2 cents.

I think it depends on to whom you ask. If you ask people from South, I am sure the answer could be very much different

GTU, more international uni, progress fast,and location is better,anyway,DC is better than texas. It depends on your career plan.

对GTU不了解，没办法评价。因为今年准备去Austin了，当然是欢迎MM来我们学校啦，呵呵。

另外我们上周在上海搞了一个盛大的Austin校友会，校友们绝对nice和优秀。

所以将来如果回国发展的话，不用担心没人罩着，哈哈

只有102分，是怎么申请的呢？楼主可否说明一下，我也想明年申请austin来着，ibt不够
