In my most honest opinion, your school is too low in ranking to place you into top phd finance programs, regardless of your academic achievement and professional experience. The admission committee will be in favor of a 3.6 Harvard Economics major with strong recommendations over you any day. You should focus on landing a Wall Street front office job, if possible, and shoot for a top MFE/MBA later. If you still want to do a PhD in Finance at a top school, get admission to Stanford MSFM or Princeton MFin and leverage your way in with stellar grades in PhD-level courses and strong reference letters from famous faculty. |
