就是那篇关于life of Sioux的。最后一句话是“and if it were only the story of my life, I think I would not tell it; for what is one man that he should take much of his winters, even when they bend him like heavy snow?" 有一个问题是关于“bend him like heavy snow”的，我对下划线那部分还不太理解，谁能讲讲？谢谢。

问了周围一个人，有了一个看起来不错的解释。
"for what" means "why". 原句是 one man should take much of his winters, even when they bend him like heavy snow。那么提问一下就是for what (why) is one man that he should take much of his winters, even when they bend him like heavy snow". 是把人比喻成一棵树，很有点大雪压青松，青松挺且直的味道。

The peceding sentence say that it's not just his only personal story, signifying a possible explanation in the following about "why not just one man's story."

So, "for what is one man that he should take much of his winters, even when they bend him like heavy snow?"---Could mean,
--->" Because what kind of "one man alone" would be able to withstand winters that bend him like heavy snow on top of tree branches?"
