maybe you can collect evidences other than a recipient to show them on court.

still hard to imagine you didn't ask him for a recipient for such a great amount of money.

This kind of issue should be resovled in court so that both parties can have opportunities to explain what happened.
Keep in mind that banks/credit company/university (i.e tuition) may have records of transferring money.

Never put yourself in an unsafe position - trust no one especially in dealing with money and relationship.

你是用什么方式给他钱的呢？如果是Check的话，会有电子账，他存款入账银行也会有记录。想办法找到这些凭据，到时候在庭上，看他怎么解释这笔“收入”来源。还可以找证人证明他的Credibility，目前就想到这些，希望有用呢
