First of all, anything is possible.

In this case, what can u bring to the table?

1 Working experience in related area

2 Strong in Modelling or mathematics, 这个行业也需要很多其他背景得人，但是按照您太太得背景，这似乎是个切入口

3 Good language skill(if you want to find a job in US) and high Energy level (basicly younger ppl have higher energy level)

Besides, think about the sunk cost which seems pretty high.

My suggestion is :

First see if you can find a way to find a job using your past achievements and experience to the maximum level, eg.pharmaceutical company, the health care industry, plastic surgery, cosmetics company, bio high tech compamy, you name it.

Tons of good opportunities with high salary which needs professionalism, suppose your wife's strength.

Again, if you really are determined to find a job in Finance area, enhance the 4 areas above and good luck!

Do you and your wife wana come back to China? If no, it is very common here to apply for MBA and career change to finance. Just my 2 cents.

There is rumors that Chinese MBA students are having a hard time finding finance jobs in the states this year. But serveral Chinese MBA students I know all found pretty good jobs, some of them are career changer. So cheer up, it is tough but not desperate.
