关于MBA选择的困惑

各位看看我的情况,给给建议,我挺矛盾的.

我本来要申请明年的MBA,申请了四所top 10的.踌躇慢志,因为自己有美国留学背景,在国内现在著名跨国公司的技术部门主管.工作也有三年了.觉得申请top 10是没有问题的. 但现在问题来了.两位申请人中的一位,是我非直线的上司,只给一个学校写了推荐信,其他学校已经过了第二轮,他还没写,估计是不给写了.当然我知道原因是他想留我,给我提供另一条有别于自费读full time MBA的路. 他和我业务的VP商量要在公司附近的城市提供资助上part time MBA,这样可以长期留住我,另外也是对将来的后备力量的投资.现在可供选择的只有北京,新加坡和美国的Iowa.这样的话,我上MBA倒是没问题了.但上top 10的学校估计就不好办了. 公司让我尽快作决定. 想问一下各位,包括在中国国内的,新加坡,香港,或者美国本土的.如果你们是我,会怎么做. 我还有下面几个问题:

1. 如果我选择在U of Iowa 或Iowa State U 读 part time, 同时在一个小时以内的距离工作,两三年以后回国在本公司继续发展,各位觉得怎样有何利弊. 从公开的资料看,Iowa State 似乎MBA基本就没有名声, U of Iowa还算中流的学校.

2. 从交通和时间上讲,在芝加哥或西北读part time,在Iowa工作可不可行.因为每周一次的飞机票可是一大笔开支,开车来回上十个小时也挺累人.不知有没有人这样做.个人比较有挑战性而且公司需要付出的资金比上Iowa估计多不少

3. 新加坡的NUS 似乎没有 part time MBA,他们的program 怎么样?还有其他的选择方案吗?

4. 如果在北京的话,我肯定不会去北大清华了.教育部系统的mba说得不客气就是越办越烂,各位从这里出来的别生我气,我仅仅指的是他们的MBA项目. 那么我还有什么别的选择?不知BIMBA和长江两者怎么样

Honestly, any of those could be done if you set your heart on it.  The question is looking back in ten, twenty years, would you regret choosing this path? 

Also, is there a way to get another recommender and apply for full-time programs anyway then make the decision once you have admissions offers?  I would question your choice of recommender if he/she hold off on writing you a letter intentionally.  You should also think about what you could have done, on your end, to prevent this from happening again.

My friend works in Phoenix, Arizona and every Friday night he takes a flight to attend Berkeley's part-time MBA on Saturday.  The company pays $50,000 for the program and he pays the remaining about $30,000. I also know people who works in Northern California and takes a plane to Chicago for Saturday MBA class.

The best choice for you should be Wharton MBA Program for Executives (you get the same MBA degree as the full-time MBA program).  Wharton offers residence program so you live in a hotel in either San Francisco or Phil. with other students.  (This is a great way to develop bonding with other students.) You fly over for Friday and Saturday classes in every other week.  The students come over from all over different cities.  The best thing is, most of those students are already doing well in their career.  The network you are nurturing is very useful to your career development.
