You do not need to hang on TOFEL: the comparison between TOFEL and IETLS

However, both scores of two my TOFELs are very bad. After about 2 months’ preparation, my first one is 88, and the second one is 87. Thus, I do not want to talk about the tips for TOFEL here.

What I want to say is that TOFEL have much more random than IETLS. With about 13 days’ preparation, I pass the IETLS with the results of overall (6.5), listening (7), reading (7.5), writing (6) and speaking (6). And this is what my potential university needs. What is more, they also accept the TOFEL of 95(namely TOFEL (95) equals to IETLS (6.5)). Compared with TOFEL, I think, IETLS is much easier than TOFEL. Below are some reasons.

1.       The condition and atmosphere of the examination room of TOFEL is really bad. Especially for the students who sit near the door or close to the students who shout loudly during the speaking section. On the contrary, in the examination room of IETLS, all the candidates start together and quiet.

2.       For the speaking test, it is more than possible for candidates to have more steady performance in IETLS than in TOFEL. Because, in IETLS, you have an examiner to help you with coming over your nervous situation, you thus have a buffer. However, in TOFEL, once the recorder start, you will have no choice but keeping speaking.

3.       One may never see invigilator has phones in the examination room. But very unfortunately, I encounter this situation in both of my TOFELs.

Haaa, what I say is just telling candidates that you do not need to hang on TOFEL. You can have a change if you really experience fluctuations in TOFEL. Furthermore, today, a very considerable number of the American universities accept IETLS scores.

Emmm, this passage is only for part of the failures in TOFEL. For many competent people, TOFEL is also their desirable choice for they can do it.
