题目是这样的：

A research discovered that people who have low levels of immune system activity tend to score much lower on tests of mental health than do people with normal or high immune system activity. The researcher concluded from this experiment that the immune system protects against mental illness as well as against physical disease.

The research's conclusion depends on which of the following assumptions:

A. High immune system activity protects against mental illness better than normal immune system activity does.

B. Mental illness is similar to physical disease in its effects on body system.

C. People with high immune system activity cannot develop mental illness.

D. Mental illness does not cause people's immune system activity to decrease.

E. Psychological treatment of mental illness is not as effective as is medical treatment.

答案是D吗？

题目的推导是：

免疫力较弱的人通常比免疫力强或免疫力正常的人在“mental health”测试中得分低
－> 因此免疫系统不仅防御生理疾病，而且防御mental disease

a 题目中没有比较免疫力强和免疫力正常的人在“mental health”上的得分

b 同样，题目中没有提到相关信息（也显然违背常识）

c 同样，题目中并没有提到免疫力强的人就不会得mental illness

d 正确。如果我们假设这个选项的assumption错误，即mental illness会导致人的免疫力下降，那么mental health得分低的人因为患有mental illness机率高，所以导致免疫力较弱，因此我们就无法证明免疫系统是否可以帮助人们防御mental disease

e 题目中没有相关信息

谢谢及时回帖，答案是D，其他选项确实没什么争议，就是光有D感觉不太周延，这样一来“as well as against physical disease”这句话就可有可无了，既然加上了这句话应该不会当作常识部分默认吧，总觉得应该在假设中得到体现，比如加上免疫系统对mental illness和physical disease的致病机理是类似的这样的假设。大家怎么看呢？

低免疫，低mental得分

结论免疫保护mental也保护生理（体现出同等重要）

D取非：低mental导致了低免疫，那就不是免疫保护mental了，而是mental会导致低免疫（因果颠倒）
