To conplain in person or in writing?

When we got some products of inferior quality or we were treated with bad services, we always make complaints. Some people will complain in person, while others will complain in writing. And if I encountered this problem, I will support the later method to complain. I based my viewpoint on the following reasons and examples.

In the first place, to complain in writing is a more efficient and effective way. Because people who deals with complaints is also the manager of such company, they have other work to do, so probably they will not be available when you want to complain about the product or service with them. Then to write a letter is a better choice.

Another reason I support to complain in writing is that it will save you much time and bother you less. For instance, everybody have the experience of buying products which was produced in foreign countries, and some of them may come across problems. Do you think it is possible for a person to travel abroad to complain in person?  That would be crazy and a waste of time. But to write a letter is to some degree feasible to make a complaint.

Finally, if we do not behave ourselves when we make complaints in person, the conversation between consumer and sales manager will eventually become a fierce quarrel, or even they will fight against each other outrageously. Whereas, a letter can avoid these problems, because when writing letters you are less tend to be extremely angered and the possibility you use the four-letter words is quite low.

From what I mentioned above, I may safely draw the conclusion that to make complaints in writing is better than complain in person for: it saves your time, it solves the problem efficiently, and it avoids violence.
