INSEAD vs. Ivy League schools

What are your thoughts on INSEAD's marketing program? Would you choose INSEAD over US Ivy League schools (for example, Cornell or Yale)? Why do you think so? [I've got zero offer from any where; I'm just curious about how other CDers view INSEAD]

I think yale and cornell are better, although the traditional opinion thought insead is very strong in marketing.

humm.. yep... I've heard that INSEAD is pretty strong in marketing too, especially international marketing.
Does anyone have a ranking list of the marketing programs world-wide?

For those top or near top schools, ranking dosen't matter. you'd better consider some other factors. like location, interest match, etc. You can always acheive certain goals regardless of the place.

if you have to rely on the fame of schools rather than your own ability to find a job, can you do well after you get that job?

Moreover, if you compare the placement of Iyv league schools, you cannot tell the difference even though the rankings are quite different among them.

I agree with you 100% that a person's ability should be the deciding factor in finding a job. But it is also true that school reputation is an important factor. It's better to have both, right?

Well, let's put it another way. If you publish 3 papers in jf before graduation, you can easily find a position in nyu. Now, if you publish 30 papers at that time, will you find a job in Mar or Saturn? I'm kidding. hehe

我觉得INSEAD的好处是在欧洲，对于在美国生活过的中国学生来说到欧洲学习生活一段时间多增加一些经历，还可以学多一门语言。其实在美国呆了两三年觉得也挺闷的。不好的地方是只能在校园里说英语，而且学校里的英语什么口音的都有，电视广播都是法语，几年下来英文水平怕是比不上在美国的同学，到时再回来美国找工作的话可能在语言上会差一些。

thanks for the info, greenclose. learning another language is certainly a benefit.... (maybe at the cost of lower english skills)...
