It has recently been announced that a large shopping center may be built in your neighborhood. Do you agree or disagree this plan? Use specific reason and examples to support your answer.

There are few shopping centers in our community, and the existing ones are in bad shape. So we have to drive for miles to downtown area for shopping. Constructing a new shopping center would be just what we need to solving this problem. It is true that building a new shopping center will bring us both positive and negative effects on our community. Over all, I am strongly favoring constructing a new shopping center.

It is true that a new shopping center would cause a few problems, one of worst of which would probably the traffic problem. A new shopping may attract many customers, especially residents of our community to go shopping. No matter how the customers get to the shopping center, either taking bus or driving cars, would probably cause traffic jam, especially in rush hour. And a new shopping center would create extra noise.

However, the advantages of a new shopping center would clearly outweigh the drawbacks. A new shopping center would bring us most convenience. As things stand now, we have to drive for hours to downtown area for shopping, which waste us a lot of time and energy. While a new shopping center would allow us go shopping every time we are free, and save us a lot of time, which otherwise can use to study, to word or to interact with friends.

Furthermore, new shopping center would create jobs, especially for those laid off workers. Many residents in our community lead miserable lives, for the employment rate is almost lowest in our country. Some laid off workers have inadequate income to support their family, and the government can only do so much to help them get through. While a new shopping centre would provide them a lot of opportunities. Also a new shopping center would boom local economy. More and more investment would be attracted to our community and some new industry would appear such as restaurant, cinema and so on.

To sum up, although a new shopping centre would cause some minor annoyance, it really bring us a lot of conveniences and lead us to economy prosperity.
