解析说这是such thing as something固定用法，然而这个结构我不会用，总感觉as 后面 had been demonstrated 前面缺个what的样子，怎么读怎么觉得别扭，请问有没有版上大神愿意解释一下？一定有的！谢谢大神们！

Variations 是主语谓语 Remained
原句：（Such variations in size, shape, chemistry, conduction speed, excitation threshold, and the like as had been demonstrated in nerve cells）remained negligible in significance for any possible correlation with the manifold dimensions of mental experience.

中心就是：Variations in xx, xx, xx, and xx such as (those that) had been demonestrated....., remained.............
