From 2000 to 2003,the number of employees at a certain company increased by a factor of 14. From 2003 to 2006, the number of employees at this company decreased by a factor of 13. If there were 100 employees at the company in 2006, how many employees were there at the company in 2000?
A.200 B.120 C.100 D.75 E.60
书里的解析看不太懂

意思是说从2000-2003年之间，公司的员工增长了，增长的数量是1/4的一个因子，2003—2006又减少了一个1/3的因子。

则[100/（1-1/3）]/（1+1/4)=100*6/5
所以2000年的员工数量是120

OG上的答案是120，而且03-06年是降低吧

你原题写错了，应该是：
From 2000 to 2003, the number of employees at a certain company increased by a factor of 1/4. From 2003 to 2006, the number of employees at this company decreased by a factor of 1/3. If there were 100 employees at the company in 2006, how many employees were there at the company in 2000 ?

X·(1+1/4)·（1-2/3）=100
得X=120.应该是B

如果题目是楼下那位说的那样的话，那就应该是那个做法....increase by 具体数字而不是百分比的确是很奇怪的表达

把原題的factor改成fraction會不會比較不奇怪？

從120這個答案回推
increase by a factor of 1/4
increase by a fraction of 1/4
increase by 25 percent
這三個意思都一樣
