GWD语法题里一个句子
Engines burns less fuel than gasoline engine of comparable size, as well as emitting less gas or far less of other gasses that have been implicated in global warming.  看过语法书里说动名词短语是没有逻辑主语的，所以 as well as后面为什么可以直接加emitting 不用加 it 这样的逻辑主语吗？
prep2012 语法题里的一个选项
The golden crab of the Gulf of Mexico has not been fished commercially in great number, primarily because of living  at great depths. 看答案解释说这个选项缺少逻辑主语 it  ，正确选项是because it lives at great depths, 需要加 it 这样的逻辑主语?
所以在像  主句，。。。这样的句式里，逻辑主语到底是什么时候使用哇？
