答案我是猜对了，但是我对这里面的一个单词的意思有疑问.

If the tariff were lifted , 这里的lift 是提升的意思吗？

如果是提升的意思好像有对文章的意思有点不通呢。

好像这里的life 应该做取消解释啊。

lifted是提高的意思。关税提高，那么就只是很少的出口，而大部分却在国内以国际价格销售，这样就降低了成本（不用交关税）。利润也就很高了。

刚刚问过一个老外啦，这里的意思是remove 的意思。

world market prices 是等于 国内价格加上关税的。

其实这段话的意思是： 国家加上很重的关税是为了让unprocessed cashew nuts 在国内销售，好增加就业率。但是如果免除关税，对farmer 来说就可以在国际市场销售，以获得更多的利润。

下面是我的老外朋友对lift 的解释。

lift only means 'go up' in the physical sense -- like if I lifted Dave above my head and threw him across the room 。

but if it's like a tariff on goods, or a ban on smoking, 'lift' means to remove always

the only way you'd see a tariff going up, would be to 'increase' the tariff
