请教OG数学题

题目是：

Is the standard deviation of the set of measurements x1, x2, x3,..., x20 less than 3;
1) the variation for the set of measurement is 4
2) for each measurement, the difference between the mean and that measurement is 2

答案是each statement alone is sufficient.

题目的mean和measurement怎么理解？是怎么推导的？谢谢帮忙解答！！

mean就是平均数，measurement就是测量值，你把标准差公式列一列就能得答案了
