英硕申请PhD in Finance，求大神帮忙定位一下啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊~~~标题要长啊啊啊啊啊啊！

话不多说！LZ背景如下求大神帮忙定位！！！

UG：这个比较惨淡。。。都是当年选校脑子进的屎。。。某高分双非- -。。。GPA 3.76/4。。。统计和经济的课学的比较多。。。分数都还可以。。
PG：英硕。。。UCL，economics专业。。Distinction，rank：1/64，dissertation写的还可以，77分。。
工作经验：一年，四大粮商之一做commodity trading方面的工作。。。
推荐信：研究生时候的acting director和我的personal tutor。。。
其他：GMAT 720（Q51 V35 IR8 AWA6），本科有两份水水的TA。。。其他课外活动实习什么的多如牛毛，但是好像和科研相关的也没什么值得说的了。。。

LZ的背景如上，现在的研究方向是想研究期货和大宗商品这块（毕竟工作经验还有点相关），但是感觉申请PhD in Finance心里虚虚的，目标是英美和欧洲。。。求大神定位看看有什么有机会的项目没有，主要对美国的特别不熟悉。。。

PS: 申请美国的话research proposal重要么，需要先和导师套磁么。。

求大神出现来解答啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊啊！！！！！

no need to contact professors now, you never know who will be in the committee. in addition, typically there will be no reply

personally, i think u should go for financial economics rather than finance, and you may probably get into a pretty good university. most top financial economics accept both GMAT and GRE, so it won't be a problem.

background ok la.........given good grade in UCL, ad com not likely to think too much about your undergraduate institute......

定位: a better idea is to ask your potential referee........
for UK (and Europe), i guess it worth to try every school. for US, ask referee which university that he/she have connection.

i will suggest you to look into both department of finance, and econ department with finance researcher.
