I love that you've already got a plan, my friend. It's clear you're serious about your career and knowing NOW that you want to apply for an MBA, you've got a tremendous opportunity to make really smart moves that'll boost your chances for S16...or even M7! Of course, I can't tell you how to improve your profile since I don't know a whole lot about what you've got right now. Yes, I know your GPA and I know your job... but that's just a teeeeeny tiny portion of what you have to offer, and in order for me to truly be able to give you meaningful guidance, I need to know a LOT more.
But in general, here's what you need to know: Bschools like leaders. So in the next 3-4 years, you're going to want to get as much leadership experience as you can get. For applicants from China, it's also incredibly important to get some experience OUTSIDE of China. Prove that you can work with people from different backgrounds, and that you can keep up in a Western environment. You don't have to work outside of China (but it's awesome if you do!); but just try to find opportunities to work with people who don't come from the same background as you.
You also need to be more than just a good GMAT score. That score is going to be VERY important, so you gotta score well. But you can't rely on the GMAT to get you in. You gotta be interesting, you gotta be cool, you gotta stand out. So think about what you're passionate about... and engage! Don't just focus on work and test prep for the next few years. Get out there and DO something that you're passionate about, and find ways to really engage there. Maybe even finding leadership opportunities through that
Being a finance guy from China with a good GMAT is not going to get you into S16. But being all those things with a killer profile AROUND that... that's what'll do it.
Best,
