当主句的谓语必须是Be；，ing的逻辑主语是主句主语，起到的作用是对主语的描述解释。

Some people argue that the escalation of health care expenditures is one of the most important problems related to aging population, imposing huge burdens to tax payers.

那么上面这句加了some people argue that 以后，ing的用法还正确么？
求NN解答一下

应该不对，这样写imposing的主语也可以是some people，产生歧义

修饰从句的主语不是不可能，虽然很少，请看下题的正确选项：

正确 . COMMA ING 修饰前面句子的主语  这个主语可以是that引导的从句

In a plan to stop the erosion of East Coast beaches, the Army Corps of Engineers proposed building parallel to shore a breakwater of rocks that would rise six feet above the waterline and act as a buffer, so that it absorbs the energy of crashing waves and protecting the beaches.
(A) act as a buffer, so that it absorbs

你可以好好研究一下这题这里的absorbing 修饰的是前面从句的that 的主语 rocks  而不是最前面的主语army

当然S1+V+O that S2+V+O, VING
这个ing 优先指代的是前面that 后面的从句

至于会不会有修饰S1的歧义我个人感觉没有而且本来就是歧义的问题是没有一个hard rule 的你需要根据语境以及其他知识点来排除

这句话不对哦, 如果按照你这么写  前面从句的主语是escalation impose burdens to payers 不符合逻辑呀
正确的写法我随便编一下
