Hi there! So excited to see you planning this all out in advance. Very, very smart. If you know you want to get an MBA one day, the best thing you can do is to start making moves in that direction NOW. You've got time on your side and if you use that time to your advantage - and make the RIGHT moves in the next few years - you can be a very, very strong applicant by the time you apply. Great work
Now, as you know, MBA programs want people with work experience. Typically, applicants have 3-5 years of experience. But some will have less and some will have more. The LENGTH of time you've been working is only as valuable as the KIND of work you were doing there. Some people get a LOT of experience in just 2 years. Others need 3-4 years of work experience in order to really get into things. I think 3-5 is a good number. But let me just tell you: the work experience (especially at a Big 4) is going to be much more valuable to the adcom than a Master of Accounting. In other words, having that degree is not going to help you get into business school. It is your work experience (namely, your International and Leadership experience) that the adcom will care about more.
So if you know you want an MBA down the road, THAT is what you should be focusing on. THAT is what the adcom wants to see. If you are applying to Accounting programs because that degree will, in some way, help your career in the long run, then go for it! But if you're only applying for those programs because you think it will help your chances at a US bchool... you're going to be much better off getting a job and getting work experience.
Good luck! And keep me posted on your progress
Best,
