8月底二战,GMAT720;
T100+,不过快要到期了;
本科北清复交,理工科,但是本科GPA是硬伤中的硬伤,没办法,不是自己喜欢的专业;

1) no. If your application is strong and you provide a good reason, then they will not reject you.
2) I didn't understand the question
3) with GMAT of 720 only ok undegrad grades, you will need to have very strong work experience to get into a top tier program. If you are only aiming for HBS, MIT, etc....then you may be wasting your money. Sorry but its true.
4) It is possible to make up for your GPA using professional experience. Was your GPA bad for all four years? Or just one year? Is there an explanation for it?
5) Unfortunately it is REALLY REALLY difficult to get funding for your MBA in the US. One way is to take out a student loan. However, with no citizenship or credit history, this will be a challenge. Many schools do offer financial aid, which is often need and/or merit based. But this is specific to each school. You should decide which schools you want to apply for and directly contact the financial aid office.

...

Well, thanks for your reply and I hope your answers will be helpful, even if some of them may turn me down. Appreciate for your straightforward.

1. To be frank, I know the reason why I desire to apply for the top tier MBA program in the world. But I just cannot find a reason to convince even myself why take 2 MBA programs in my life.
Technically, I need the GPA refreshed, and everyone knows that the domestic part-time MBA means nothing but a piece of paper. But If it were you who have reimbursement for your part-time study and also have free time, do you want to have a try? Especially when you are only 25 and just began your career?

2. I mean there might be some other majors other than MBA in the graduate school of business that I can take into account. Well, yeap, I'm not quite interested in finance or consulting as a career. More concentrated on manufacturing and supply chain. I've learned these lessons during my part-time MBA. So just forget the question.

3&4. By mentioning the very strong work experience, to what degree do you mean "very strong work experience"? I've tried my best to be the best compared to my peers. No offence but it's true that the only way to surpass my achievement is to start your own business just right after you graduated from college, and I hopefully wish it still survives after 6 years. I was born and lived in China, not in the land of dream.

What a shame, my GPA is bad for all four years. The first year's is the best, and declines year by year. Major in chemical-related material engineering. Coz I'm still quite good at advanced math, better at other sociology courses, very nice performance in economic-related optional curriculum if you see my academic report. But compulsory ones, such as physics and chemistry, too bad. Never figure out what they want to say. The only explanation for bad GPA is that I cannot change my major once I entered the college. Again, I was born  and lived in China.

And it's true that I am aiming at HBS, Stanford, Wharton and MIT, owing to my selfish arrogance. I think you are right and thanks again for your sincerity. But does it sound a little ridiculous? The business school reject me only because I don't know the f**kin structure of Polytetrafluoroethylene?

Remind myself of some unhappy time during college study, excuse me and I never meant to offend.
Well, through this conversation, I gradually find the dream vague. Might not be so bad cos giving up the unpractical fantasy can pave a new way. Just as my signature says.

Wish all the best for your life in MIT.

Yeah...even though I offer a business doing this....I think its better just to tell it straight.

However, if that is what happened to your GPA, it is actually quite possible to justify your gpa. The simple fact is that you then point out your Concentration GPA and lessen the focus on your cumulative GPA.

Hey man...if you are 25 years old and that far along in your career then maybe it would be worth it. However, the reality is that funding for MBA programs is REALLY REALLY hard to get...like i mean REALLY. One potential way to make this happen is to do a one year Masters of Finance or accounting program. Get your OPT, start working for a company that may have tuition reimbursement. Some companies like Fidelity will offer up to 10K a year in tuition assistance to their employees. Depending on if they will help you with visa, etc...you may be able to do an MBA part time..or full time if you have the energy (you are only 25 after all). My husband did that and basically Fidelity paid for his entire MBA. Of course, this option is a HUGE time commitment.

Hopefully you will figure it out. Maybe it is worth a shot if you are feeling so unhappy. You never know right?

When I was working at MIT, I actually once saw an application that almost got rejected because of the GPA. Every single comment on it was...NO - GPA too low, TOEFL too low.  But then one of the professors on the adcom was joking around with his phd student from Tsinghua. At first it was a joke. But then the PhD student said..actually my GPA was about that high in undergrad. If you reject him, you  may be missing out on someone like me. Because of this statement, the application was admitted. Sometimes you don't know what might happen.

sorry to spam...but IF your are that far along in your career, then I think the application fees aren't a big deal to you. If you are only 25, give it a shot. If I was you in that situation, I would give it a shot. However, I would still widen the net on the schools. There are some great programs at schools like Notre Dame, etc that have extremely successful grads. I've known people to graduate from there and come out with 120-150K job offers...which is even higher than the average HBS salary offer. The worst is if you reach a career plateau in five to ten years. Then you will only have less options and be even more stuck.
