B为什么不对？

我觉得A对

B is due to 不对  貌似due to只能做原因状语 不能做表语 

C 里面有两个错 1 being 要省 2 即使省了charcoal’s being replaced by coal as the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore and several improvements in blowing machinery也不对称 N1's being doing 和 N2不对称

我认为是因为其它选项有更加简洁的replace的用法...

a tripling，a doubling貌似也是个啰嗦的说法...

C，D里面好像不符合由轻到重的句子习惯

语法上我觉得应该是没有错误的，是平行的，因为他们所代表的成分平行的。

就像I eat more apples than tom eats. 和 I eat more apples than tom does.是一样的吧。不过我这也都是事后诸葛亮的想法。

当然如果选项有because...and because.更好。
