Well, if you combine 1 and 2, you have 49 total books. Which book is the book in the middle? The book with 400 pages! Because there are 24 books which have more pages than the 400-page book and none of the other 24 books will have more pages than the 400-page book.

我不明白这道题，首先，题目中的问题到底是在问什么？
What is the median number of pages for all of the books on the 2 shelves ?
第一次读题的时候就没看明白这句话到底是求什么。看来还是英语阅读理解的问题，什么叫What is the median number of pages

另外OG的解释里说两个条件一起可以sufficient，但它描述的时候说：the median will be the 25th book when the books are ordered by number of pages.
这不是又给题目增加条件了吗，只有当书按照大小页数排列的时候才可以。

You need to study the basic concepts of math and logic in English.

The median of a series of numbers is the middle number. In this case, 400 is the middle number when conditions (1) and (2) are added.

The OG explanation precisely combined conditions (1) and (2), plus the existing conditions in the prompt, and plus using the known definition of median to reach its conclusion that the median is 400. No new conditions were added.

我的意思是，the median number of pages for all of the books ，
问的是中间哪本书是多少页？
那应该是：what the number of pages of the median book.

另外不好意思我真的没有看懂你说的，为什么按照页数多少的顺序来排列书这个条件不是单加进去的，题目中好像没有。。。如果页数多少是打乱的呢

It may sound harsh, but your reading comprehension needs to be improved drastically in order to score high on the GMAT.

There is not such thing as a "median book." Every book has certain pages. If you list all the books according to their pages, you will have a series of number. The median number of this series is "the median number of pages for all of the books ."

Study the definition of median; work on more math problems, and you will get it eventually.

Read, think, and analyze in English.
